  • Turning  Left Minor to Major: Check your mirrors Right Left Right, signal your intention, look over your left shoulder (only if your sure the road ahead is safe ie no junctions, lanes, pedestrians prior to your turn) if not sure, left mirror again, move left (close the gap between you and the kerb) thus stopping traffic (push bikes, cars other MC's) coming up your inside, reduce your speed to accommodate the turn, look both ways, consider a lifesaver, if clear, turn. If you have to stop then remember left and right shoulder check and life saver right prior to moving off.

  • Turning Left Major to Minor: check your mirrors Right Left Right, signal your intention, look over your left shoulder (only if your sure the road ahead is safe ie no junctions, lanes, pedestrians prior to your turn), if not sure, left mirror again, move left (close the gap between you and the kerb) thus stopping traffic (push bikes, cars other MC's) coming up your inside, reduce your speed to accommodate the junction, look into the road your turning check it out for dangers (parked cars, pedestrians, lorries loading, taxis etc;) look and make sure traffic is not turning from your right across your front, consider a life saver left before turning, and turn if safe todo so (check your mirrors and cancel your indicators).

  • Turning Right Minor to Major: check your mirrors Right Left Right, signal your intention, look over your right shoulder, move over to the centre of the road if safe todo so (making sure your bike and yourself stay on yourside of the white line) reduce your speed, check out the junction looking both ways, if its safe, life saver and continue your turn, once completed check your mirrors and cancel your indicators. If you have to stop due to traffic conditions or other obstacles like poor viability, remember once your ready to move, check over both shoulders before pulling away.

  • Turning Right Major to Minor: check your mirrors Right Left Right, signal your intention, look over your right shoulder, move over to the centre of the road if safe todo so (making sure your bike and yourself stay on yourside of the white line) reduce your speed, look  at the on-coming traffic, look into the junction (check for obstructions) check its safe to turn, right shoulder life saver and turn if safe todo so. If you have to stop because of on-coming traffic remember Left (traffic on your inside) and Right shoulder check prior to moving off once the turn is complete  (check mirrors, cancel indicators) .

  • Overtaking:

As soon as you see the vehicle or obstacle you want to overtake, start planning, don't race up behind it then think about the overtake. Use the time and distance between you and the vehicle to plan your manoeuvre and absorb the information around you. eg: vehicles behind you, junctions ahead, car parks, petrol stations, pubs, farm roads or dips in the road.

Overtaking is an integral part of your daily riding and should not be treated as an individual manoeuvre, try not to pull in immediately after the overtake, if its safe todo so, look ahead you may be able to overtake another vehicle, don't move out to the offside, if you can't see at least a safe route past the vehicle infront of you.
Look down the nearside of large vehicles, this sometimes gives you a better view of the road ahead if it bends left, look through the window of the vehicle infront of you if you can't see past it, don't get up behind the vehicle you want to pass and sit there, fall back relax, get a better view of the road ahead, and when its safe, overtake.

Never overtake a line of vehicles unless you can see the gap you are going to drop into, don't hope that the gap will just appear, it seldom does and will cause you and other vehicles unnecessary breaking and stress.
Never overtake if you can't see 100% of the road ahead, anything less could mean an accident caused by you..

  • Observation

Observation is the key to a safe ride, look out for parked cars, pedestrians, car parks, pubs, and cyclists, look out for cars overtaking or pulling out.

  • General Riding

The road ahead is clear of oncoming traffic, then theres probably road works, a tractor or something holding it up.

Keep your head moving not just your eyes, look into junctions in good time as you approach them not as you pass them, check over your shoulders regularly prior to making any movement, if its safe todo so, if not use your mirrors.
